2-component epoxy primer containing adjusted quantities of component A and component B.
For pre-treatment for Alfix Epoxy Membran:
200-300 g/m² + approx. 2.5 kg/m² Quartz Sand type 1 (grain size 0.32 - 0.71 mm).
When used for concrete protection:
Total 300-600 g/m² + approx. 2.5 kg/m² Quartz Sand type 1 (grain size 0.32 - 0.71 mm).
As fluid casting around penetrations:
Approx. 1 kg/litre cavity in the substrate + approx. 1.4 kg Quartz Sand type 10 (grain size 0.1 - 0.3 mm)
As non-sag epoxy mortar for casting around penetrations:
Approx. 160 g/litre cavity in the substrate + approx. 1.4 kg Quartz Sand type 1 (grain size 0.32 - 0.71 mm)
Alfix Epoxy Grunder is supplied in 1 kg and 10 kg packaging containing adjusted quantities of component A and component B.
Quartz Sand type 1 (grain size 0.32 - 0.71 mm) can be supplied in 25 kg bags.

Application
In-situ concrete and concrete elements older than 3 months.
Concrete screed.
The cohesive strength must be at least 1.5 N/mm².
For other substrates, contact the Service Technical Department.
The substrate must be dry, stable and sound, and cleaned of dust, grease, salts, cement laitance and efflorescence. The surface must also be free from through-cracks and have an evenness of +/- 2 mm measured with a 2 m straightedge. Removal of grease and soap residues must be carried out using Alfix Deep Cleaner.
Component B is placed in an insert at the top of the bucket. Component A is located at the bottom.
To mix the two components, pierce the black plastic cover at the top of the bucket with a strong, pointed metal object with a length of 20-30 cm. At the same time, make 4-8 holes in the bottom of the metal insert.
After 3-6 minutes, depending on the hole sizes in the bottom, the number of holes and the product temperature, the insert is emptied.
Remove the plastic lock from the lid clamp, then remove the clamp. Using the handle at the top of the bucket, carefully lift the insert to ensure that it has been emptied.
The epoxy mass is then mixed using a mixing paddle on a slow-speed drill.
Mixong time: Approximately 3 minutes.
As a system with Alfix Epoxy membrane: The primer is applied with a brush or a short-haired paint roller in an even, fully covering layer and in an amount of 200-300 g/m². Dry Quartz Sand type 1 is broadcast into the freshly applied Alfix Epoxy Grunder until the entire surface is sand-saturated.
As concrete protection or a moisture barrier: The primer is applied in 2 coats with a brush or a short-haired paint roller in an even, fully covering layer in an amount corresponding to 100-300 g/m². No earlier than 12 hours and no later than 5 days after the first treatment, the second coat is applied in an amount corresponding to 200-300 g/m², after which dry Quartz Sand type 1 is broadcast into the freshly applied primer until the entire surface is sand-saturated.
For casting around penetrations:
As fluid mortar: Add dry Quartz Sand type 10 to the fully mixed Epoxy Grunder to obtain a suitable consistency, however maximum 1.4 kg sand per 1 kg Epoxy Grunder.
As non-sag epoxy mortar: Add dry Quartz Sand type 1 to the fully mixed Epoxy Grunder to obtain a suitable consistency, however maximum 8.5 kg sand per 1 kg Epoxy Grunder.
Working time
Approx. 35 minutes at + 20ºC.
NB
The substrate and working temperature should be between +10ºC and +30°C.
Avoid applying the product in direct sunlight.
Residues from Alfix Epoxy primer on tools should be removed immediately upon use with ethanol. Once cured, primer can only be removed mechanically.
