Application

Surfaces

Cement/sand rendering, brickwork and aerated concrete. Screed, with or without underfloor heating;
recommended age: 14 days. Lightweight concrete elements, max. moisture content 8%. Floors finished
with cement-based levelling compound. Anhydrite floors, residual moisture content max. 0.5%. In-situ
concrete. Calcium silicate panels, wet-room cement board panels such as Aquapanel, Powerpanel H2O,
Hydropanel, Ivarit UniCo and Internit VR. Polystyrene panels with cement fibre-reinforced surface, such
as Wediboard, Jackoboard and LUX panels. Gypsum plaster, wet room plasterboard, fibre plasterboard
such as Glasroc Hydro. Existing tiled surfaces, terrazzo. Vinyl-coated and painted concrete.

Substrates comprising plaster, wood, existing tiles, vinyl and paint are not normally suitable for outdoor
use or for areas exposed frequently or permanently to water.

Surface preparation

The substrate should be sound and secure, free from dust, grease and laitance, as well as from blooms
and penetrating cracks. Use Alfix Deep Cleaner to remove grease and soap residue.
Check that any paint is sufficiently adhering and non-flaking.
Sand/roughen vinyl and painted surfaces with appropriate sandpaper, and treat with Alfix Universal Primer.
Alternatively, apply a thin contact layer of Alfix LetFix Plus, mixed with Alfix FlexBinder, if appropriate.
Alfix LetFix Plus can be used to level out uneven spots of up to 5 mm. Make sure to prime strongly
absorbent indoor substrates – such as untreated aerated concrete, plasterboard, gypsum plaster, calcium
silicate boards and anhydrite floors – with Alfix Sealing Primer or Alfix PlaneMixPrimer.
For exterior use, prime absorbent surfaces with Alfix PlaneMixPrimer mixed with water at a ratio of 1:6.

How to use

Mix in a ratio of 0.54–0.60 litres of clean cold water per kg of powder, depending on whether you are
using the product as a firm wall adhesive or an easy-flowing floor adhesive.
For optimal firmness, add a maximum of 0.54 litres of water per kg of powder. Mix to form a smooth,
lump-free paste; maximum mixing time, 1 minute.
Use a notched trowel to spread Alfix LetFix Plus across the substrate; use the straight edge first and then
the notched edge to create a ridged bed. Press/wiggle the tiles in place in the moist adhesive immediately
– and within no more than 20–30 minutes. When installing mosaics, use the flat side of the trowel to
smooth the surface of the adhesive. Then press/tap the mosaic tiles in place in the moist adhesive using a
grout float, for example.
Check that the whole rear side of the tile is covered.
For outdoor applications – terraces, steps and façades, for example – always use the Buttering-Floating

NB
Do not add extra water to adhesive that has already begun to set.
Please note that mixing with warm water will shorten the open and setting time.
It is normally possible to reposition tiles within around 20–30 minutes of installation, depending on the
absorbency of the substrate and the tiles themselves.
Any underfloor heating system must be switched off at least 2 days in advance.

Cleaning

Rester af Alfix LetFix Plus på fliser og værktøj fjernes med vand inden afbinding. Cementbaserede produkter
hærder under vand, skyl derfor aldrig rester ud i kloaksystemet. Hæld ikke rester ud på jorden på
byggepladsen, idet fliseklæberen indeholder ingredienser, der kun meget langsomt nedbrydes i naturen.
Når opblandet materiale er færdighærdet, kan det bortskaffes som almindeligt byggeaffald.
