General information

The joints must be clean of adhesive and loose particles and have a uniform depth before starting work. Adding Alfix JointBinder to the grout can, depending on the type of tile - e.g. matt, non-slip or open surfaces - make it extra difficult to remove any grout residue.

Application

How to use

Stir undiluted Alfix JointBinder into the grout until the desired consistency is achieved. Only use Alfix JointBinder to adjust the consistency of the grout.
Pour Alfix JointBinder into a clean container and add the powder gradually while stirring vigorously to produce a smooth, lump-free paste. Stir until a homogeneous, lump-free consistency is achieved. After a few minutes resting time, stir the grout thoroughly again before use.
Before applying the grout, wipe the tiles with a damp sponge. Apply the sealant with a grouting float diagonally across the joints, pressing it down and filling the joints completely. Once the grout is beginning to set, clean the surface using a well-wrung sponge; rinse the sponge regularly with clean water. Start by working diagonally until the joints are neat and even. Finish off with a final wipe of the surface with a wellwrung sponge. Limit the area to be grouted to avoid the grout setting on the tile surface.
To ensure optimal performance, it is important to keep the joints moist for the first few days after grouting.

Cleaning

Clean tools in water before the grout with JointBinder dries. Dried JointBinder is removed mechanically or with a solvent such as acetone.
It is recommended to wear protective gloves while working as the product adheres strongly to skin.
